šæ FROM THE STUDIO: DIY Pressed Flower Easter Eggs (That Look Way Too Expensive to Be Handmade)
- Mar 25
- 2 min read

Letās be honest for a secondā¦Plastic eggs? Weāve outgrown her.
This year weāre doing Easter like the effortlessly aesthetic, slightly unhinged, cottagecore queens we are.
Enter: pressed flower Easter eggsĀ ā delicate, vintage-inspired, and the kind of decor that makes people ask, āwait⦠where did you BUY those?ā
ā¦and you get to say: āI made them.āĀ š
⨠WHY THIS CRAFT IS HAVING A MOMENT
Cottagecore is still thriving (obviously)
People want less plastic, more natural textures
Handmade-but-elevated is trending HARD
They double as:
decor
place settings
gifts
āØInstagram baitāØ
Basically: low cost, high āomg where did you get thatā
š§ŗ WHAT YOUāLL NEED
Keep it simple ā this is a vibe, not a stress project.
Real eggs (blown out) orĀ wooden eggs
Pressed flowers (store bought or DIY)
Mod Podge or craft glue
Small paintbrush
Tweezers (trust me on this)
Neutral ribbon or twine
Optional: soft paint wash (cream, sage, dusty rose š)
š„ STEP 1: PREP YOUR EGGS
If youāre using real eggs:
Carefully blow them out (yes, itās annoying, but worth it)
Let dry completely
If youāre using wooden eggs:
Lightly sand if needed
Optional: paint a soft base color for that muted, earthy look
š Think: not Easter Bunny bright ā more āEnglish cottage in Aprilā

šø STEP 2: APPLY YOUR FLOWERS
This is where the āØmagic⨠happens
Use tweezers to gently place your pressed flowers
Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge underneath
Press lightly (theyāre fragile ā donāt manhandle them)
Seal with another thin layer on top
Pro tip:
Less is more. One or two delicate florals > covering the whole egg like a scrapbook explosion.

š STEP 3: ADD A HANGING LOOP (OPTIONAL BUT CUTE)
Wrap twine or ribbon around the top
Tie a soft loop for hanging
Perfect for:
Easter trees
Hooks
Random branches you decided are now decor

šæ STEP 4: STYLE THEM LIKE YOU HAVE YOUR LIFE TOGETHER
Because presentation = everything
Try:
A wooden bowl with moss
A linen-lined tray
A soft neutral basket
Scattered on a table runner with candles
You want:⨠āI just casually made these while sipping tea in a sunlit cottageā āØ

š£ FINAL THOUGHTS
If your Easter decor usually leans:š a little chaoticš a little plasticš a little āwhy do I own this?ā
This is your upgrade.
Soft. Handmade. Intentional. Slightly addictive.
And the best part?Youāll end up wanting to make way too many.
(Which⦠honestly⦠could be worse.)
